Multi-stage steam jet vacuum pumps - combined with liquid ring pumps as hogging ejectors are often advantageous for economic reasons. Jet vacuum pumps prove themselves for steel degassing for the following reasons:
- immediately available for the rapid evacuation of the process tank at the pressure required. This demands the handling of very high suction capacities (i.e. many thousands kg/hr, i.e. very high volume flows)
- resilient and reliable even under the hardest conditions
- low investment costs
